Positive Action

Positive Action is an evidence-based substance abuse prevention program for ages nine to 18, addressing social, behavioral, and academic performance. Prevention Specialists hold offices in our local mental health centers but visit the community sites to conduct programming. The program aims to enhance the awareness of young individuals vulnerable to the realities of drug use and misuse. Moreover, it imparts valuable lessons on developing positive coping skills and resilience, enabling youth to navigate life’s challenges in a healthy and appropriate manner. The program is provided in schools, community settings, and court-based groups, and is funded by TDMHSAS.
