Outpatient counseling is available at all VBH locations and via phone appointments.

The counselors at Volunteer Behavioral Health offer comprehensive care for adults struggling with depression. Outpatient care and telehealth are available, ensuring easy access to medical personnel. Telehealth is a secure way for VBH clients to directly connect to physicians and medical staff within our system from all locations within Volunteer’s 12,555 square miles of coverage area. Addiction Treatment in Chattanooga
Substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment and addiction recovery services are designed to help individuals develop the necessary skills to maintain a healthy, recovery-oriented lifestyle. Medical detox may be the first step in starting the path to recovery. VBH has 24 medical detox beds on our Cookeville campus for men and women. Additional medical detox beds are coming soon to our Chattanooga campus.
Medication-Assisted Treatment for Addiction
Clients diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) may benefit from medication specific to their substance-use recovery needs. Previously known as Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), MOUD combines opioid-use or alcohol-use-specific medications and a continuum of interactive counseling services to provide a “whole person” experience for clients engaged in our Substance Use Treatment and Recovery programs. MOUD is associated with positive outcomes such as helping clients manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings and increased sustained abstinence from opioids, alcohol, and other drugs.
